The rainbow rose was painted in lots of detail and with layers of vibrant glazed colors and

surrounded by a swirly textured white background. The garden greens create a strong, fresh and lively contrast.

A bit about my process…I have developed a technique referred to as “paint writing” that dances between intention and intuition. I have developed a mixture of mediums added to acrylic paint and prepare a sleek hard surface on a wood panel. With the smooth surface there is little resistance to my brush strokes and tools as they glide across the surface removing paint revealing the layers of color beneath.
